Has It Been A Long Time Or What?!!

Hi there everyone! Long time no post. I hope you all enjoyed your holidays. We've been having a great time. In case you've all been wondering...my son ended up having a very good time on Christmas morning. Santa brought back all of his presents and he seemed very excited to be able to play with them. I could see his wheels turning in his mind when he opened some of them but he was appropriately excited and never said anything to his little sister about what happened and what he saw. I too had a very good time that morning. My Christmas spirit returned when I watched my daughter and husband open their gifts, so all went well.

I haven't posted any cards or projects because I've been busy with house projects. I've been off work for a week and a half and thought it would be a good time to do some painting. Now that my son is almost in the double digits I thought his room needed a big boy update. So gone are the trucks and airplanes, and in their place are maps and dinosaurs. I painted the walls a kind of olive green color (the color of dinosaurs and the forest :) ). Then I changed the color of the accent wall in their playroom from plum to red. 5 coats of red to be exact!! I thought that since the wall was a dark color already I wouldn't need to prime the wall, my mistake! So after 5 coats and several trips to the hardware store it's all done and looks great. I also reorganized some closets and put up some shelves, etc. It feels so good to be organized!!

Anyway, here's the first card I've made in about 2-3 weeks. It's a birthday card for my brother who will be turning 48 in a couple weeks. I used the Crab & Company stamp set from SU which will be retiring soon. I think this little guy is so cute! I combined a couple of layouts that I found on the Splitcoaststampers website (follow link on my sidebar). I'm sure you already know but I'll go ahead and tell you that Splitcoast has an area that is organized by the names of the SU stamp sets that people have used to make the cards they've posted. So if you have a stamp set from SU that you don't know what to do with you can just look there to find a layout you like.
