Quick and Simple Card & More Puppy Pictures

I'm not feeling 100% today (bad cold) but I just had to get into my stamp room and try to make a little something. So I know this card isn't spectacular but it was super quick and since I'm giving it to someone who doesn't stamp she will probably think it's great. (That's the good thing about giving cards to non-crafters...they're easily impressed.)

And I just had to include some more pictures of our new baby. He found this stick in our yard. It's about twice as big as he is and when he drags it around he trips over it and gets it caught on things- too funny! And don't you just love it when their tongues hang out just a tiny bit? Too cute!

Have You Seen It?!

Have you seen it?! Have you seen it?! What is it are you asking? It's the newest thing from the fabulous Gina K, "Stamp TV"! It's a website where she posts videos, very professionally made videos I might add, of stamping projects and techniques. I am a very visual learner so this is great for me. I can watch her make a project and then go attempt it myself, or actually make it along with her and just pause it when I need to catch up. It's great! Go to www.stamptv.ning.com and take a look. I'll also post a link on my side bar.

Dog Gone It!

Hi there everyone! Dog gone it, another weekend went by without stamping! But this is part of the reason why. May I introduce the newest member of the Pickett family...Dexter the beagle! Isn't he the cutest?! He is 11 weeks old and a bundle of energy. The best part though, his ears and face are like velvet. I could pet him all day. And I love it when he snuggles his head down into the crook of my arm and falls asleep. It's like having a baby again, literally. It seems like all I've done for the past 4 days is clean up pee & poop and follow him around trying to keep him from getting into anything. It's exhausting but I know it won't last forever. Someday he will be potty trained and I can relax a little more. Do any of you have pets? Send me some pictures so I can see them! Take care and think of me when you're having a relaxing time stamping in a pee-free, pet hair-free, nice and clean house!

Sweets for My Sweets (and me too!)

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! This is a batch of homemade sticky buns that I made for all of my sweethearts this morning. I've been wanting to make these ever since I saw them on "Barefoot Contessa" a few weeks ago. And man were they good! Super easy too. If you want the recipe I can post it later for you.

Well my day has gone very well so far. I got flowers and a card from my DH and then he took the kids to the Indiana State Museum (a reward for my son doing well in school) and I was left at home alone to get started on a long awaited project...painting our bedroom. Painting is one of my favorite design things to do because you can totally change the look and feel of a room just by adding a different color of paint to the walls, and it doesn't cost much money. It's a big project though because I'm also painting the trim which was originally stained. It takes several coats of primer and paint to cover it up and I had to vacuum and wash it first. So I probably won't get to the fun part (the wall color) until tomorrow. But it will all be worth it for sure.

Anyway, this might be the only post I get to do this weekend so I wanted to take time to say Hi and Happy V-Day! Mary

I Did It!

Well, I did it! I finally made a card and posted it all in the same day. That was my goal for the weekend and I did it. This card looks so much better in person. I need a new camera or some photography lessons or something because I can't quite capture the sharp contrast of the black and white. In the photo it just looks like a black and white picture, but IRL this card looks so much crisper. Anyway, the layout is good.

Supplies:
CS- SU: Basic Black, Whisper White, Going Gray
Image- SU: Pocket Silhouettes
Background stamp- SU: Soft Swirls
Words- SU: Make It Count
Ink- SU: Basic Black, Going Gray

Brads- Making Memories

Various Projects

So to say that I've been too busy to craft over the past few weeks is not entirely true. What would be more accurate is that I've been too busy to post my projects. Here's what I've been up to. It would take too long to post the particulars about each project, so if you don't mind I will just show the pictures for your enjoyment. FYI: the cone was from the Chick-n Scratch site, the gable box is from a weekly inkling from the Splitcoaststampers site, and the card and envelope gift box is from the Paper Pleasing site. Follow the links on my side bar to find their sites and instructions. Enjoy!

Great Web Site!!!

I'm getting ready to post some projects but before I do I want to share a great website I've been visiting. It's called "thepioneerwoman.com". A friend of mine let me know about it and I'm so glad she did. Apparently this woman used to live a busy life in LA, I think, and enjoyed things like ballet, starbucks, shopping, and hanging out with friends. But then she met the love of her life who happens to be a cowboy who owns a cattle ranch in I can't remember which state. They are now married and have 4 children. She homeschools them, helps run the ranch, and enjoys things like photography and cooking. Her pictures are fabulous!!! And she has such a beautiful way of writing about events in her life that I have a hard time stopping. I think I enjoy it so much because I wouldn't mind that kind of lifestyle. I love horses and cows and being on a farm, and the isolation would suit me just fine. I know it would be hard work but it looks like such fun too. Give the site a visit. There's a lot to look at so be warned...you just might lose track of time and before you know it 2 hours have gone by!

I'm Still Alive!!!

Hi there everyone! Have you been wondering where I've been? Well, I don't really have any good, solid excuses as to why I haven't posted anything in so long...just life getting in the way as it can tend to do sometimes. I've been busy with a lot of little things over my days off that seem to quickly consume my days. Then by the time evening comes around I'm too tired to craft. But it is one of my goals this weekend to get something good posted for you all. Please take care keep checking in on me! :)
